Fun fact of the day: Car companies are always looking for ways to make vehicles have a greater MPG. Or are they? In 1980 Honda came out with the Honda Insight, a four-door sedan that looked like any other 80's car. But why was it special? It could get 70 miles to the gallon. ONE gallon could get you SEVENTY miles. THIRTY YEARS AGO! The reason why cars rarely get past 40 MPG today is because all the oil companies got pissed off at Honda because their Insight could severely damage oil sales across the globe, so they struck up a deal with them: Keep your cars shitty, keep our sales up, and keep that money you found under the table.

Fun fact of the day: It is impossible to be scared to death. However, it is very possible to be relieved to death. When life is threatened, your brain releases (or commands cells/glands/whatever to release) an assortment of chemicals that accelerate heart rate, blood pressure, alertness, etc etc. When you are no longer in danger, the brain signals to release chemicals that lower heart rate, etc to normal levels.

But sometimes the brain forgets to stop the release of one of the 'calming' chemicals, leading your heart rate to lower and lower until you die.

Fun fact of the day: Ever seen an old person that always appears to be frozen in their own little world, due to Parkinson's disease? Throw a tennis ball at them. Their reflexes (controlled by the spine, not their dysfunctional dopamine-deprived brain) will cause them to snap back to life for a fraction of a second and catch the ball (or try to). Truly amazing, and discovered by accident. Good thing too, because if this wasn't the case, I'm sure someone would have been fired for accidentally pegging an old man with a tennis ball.
